SISTER CAPITAL WEEK FAIR

Dear Sir/Madam:

We, would like to inform you that we have been invited by Vientiane Capital Tourism Administration Department to join in the Sister Capital Week Fair 2008 which will be held on 29th to 31st August 2008 in Bangkok, Thailand. There will be 17 participants from around the world represented in this fair.
For this special event, we were given an appreciative responsibility to exhibit and promote Laos, especially our Vientiane 450th anniversary as capital city of Laos. In order to further achieve and to open Laos travel business, we will showcase at the fair the Lao Association of Travel Agents (LATA) directory, currently with 56 committed members. Green Discovery Laos is one of the proud members of LATA; therefore, we greatly provide support through the promotion of other LATA membership, distribution, and advertisement of materials at the fair.
We are grateful and appreciative to Vientiane Capital Tourism Administration Department for selecting Green Discovery Laos to represent the country of Laos, and Vientiane Capital City in this prestigious international event.
Finally, we would like to inform all travel agencies in Laos to please feel free to give your feedbacks, comments and assistance by contacting our office or via

Traveling with us is another choice to help and develop our society

Since 2003, GREEN DISCOVERY has organized Community Development and Study Tours for Japanese student groups. We offer this program twice a year and we are in our seventh year now! The last tour was in February 2009. Even though these students are from big cities with a modern lifestyle, nowadays more people, particularly students, are interested in active learning ("hands on") about life styles in other, sometimes less developed cultures. The table below shows the increasing number of study tour students from 2003 until 2008.

You can see from the table above, more and more students show interest in this type of tour where one has a chance to have positive impact on the villagers' life.

We would like to offer this kind of creative study tour to those of you who are looking for a place to lend a helping hand and where part of your money goes directly to our local villagers in the rural areas. You may not learn everything about their daily lifestyle during such short homestays, especially considering the lingual and cultural challenges, but you will get a glimpse of their daily routines such as livestock raising, rice and vegetable farming, gardening, cooking, etc., at least. Interaction with your host family, children and other villagers is truely a rewarding experience you will never forget.
