Enjoy the stunning scenery of the Khammouane karsts and the Nam Hinboun river flowing for 7.5 kilometres through the cave of Konglor. It is the longest and grandest cave in Laos measuring up to 70-80 meters in hight at some places. It is a true cave explorer's experience complete with darkness and narrowness. When light shines on the water, you will be amazed by how clear it is.

Itinerary
Day 1: Thakhek - Ban Nahin

Starting at the Green Discovery Laos office in Thakhek, we drive through the imposing karsts of Khammouane to the Lao Loum village of Ban Nahin (also called Ban Khoun Kham) where we set out trekking through old growth forest to get to the Nam Sanam waterfall. Along with a picnic lunch we relax at the base of fall. Let's enjoy some swimming and explore the immediate area. In the late afternoon, we cycle up the mountain to an excellent viewpoint for the sunset and return to Ban Nahin for the night.

Approximately: 2 hours transfer/ 2 hours trekking /3 hours waterfall/ 1 hour cycling

Day 2: Ban Nahin - Ban Konglor - Ban Natan
After breakfast, we cycle to Ban Konglor through rice fields for about 2.5 hours, passing various Lao Loum villages. We can refresh by swimming in the pool in front of the cave and enjoy our picnic lunch.

After lunch, we take a long-tail boat for a 1.5 hours ride through the gorgeous Konglor Cave and then walk 45 minutes to Ban Natan, where we will have a Lao style dinner and stay overnight in the house of a villager.

Day 3: Ban Natan - Ban Konglor – Thakhek
After breakfast, we participate in a traditional Baci ceremony. To save time, we’ll take a 10 minutes tok-tok (tractor) ride to the starting point for kayaking near the entry of the cave. We paddle downstream back through the cave until we reach the blue pool on he other side where we have our lunch for a picnic lunch as the day before.

We then take a truck back to Ban Nahin to pack our belongings we left there at the start of the trip and head back to reach Thakhek or Vientiane by evening.

Approximately: 2 ½ hours kayaking/ 2 hours transfer to Thakhek and 4 hours to Vientiane

Note:
• There are 2 options for transportation:
1. For private transportation with a sonthaew, this trip starts and ends in Thakhek (as described in the itinerary above).
2. Using public transport (by bus), this trip starts either in Vientiane or Thakhek and ends in Vientiane or Thakhek respectively. The busses will pass Ban Nahin (now renamed to Ban Khoun Kham) along Road No. 8.
