This one day tour will afford you an amazing discovery on the edge of Phou Hinboun, encounter some of the most beautiful limestone landscapes of the country. The boating tour will be led by experienced local guides that will conduct you through one of the longest cave of the country.

Departure at 0730am from our office in the heart of Thakhek. After getting out of the town towards the North for a 2 hours transfer to enter into our secret garden: the famous limestone forest of Phou Hinboun and the cave that own the flow of the river Hinboun.

After a brief meeting with local and to discuss security issues and to provide you with torch and equipment, we will enter into the mouth of the cave and jump into our boat with a local boatman to cruise up the river Hinboun that flows through the cave. This 7,5km underground cruise is really a unique experience and you will be amazed by this circuit passing from huge chambers to middle sized caves till getting out of the cave besides Ban Nathan village. Return by the same way.

Once back at the entrance of the cave, transfer to Ban Nahin (45 minutes) where you will enjoy your lunch.

In the afternoon, a small trek (around 2 hours) through the jungle will lead you to Namsanam Waterfalls where you will enjoy the beauty of the area and the calm.

Then, it will be return back to Thakhek or to Vientiane (4 to 5 hours).

Note: The trip is doable in the dry season from October to May.
