08:30 am depart from Green Discovery Laos Don Det office. Before start of kayaking our guide will brief you on the basics of kayaking/rafting and River safety. Then continue down River for about 40 minutes of paddling to get to Don Ant to begin with some sets of rapids class 3-4. Amazing 4000 islands a long edge of the River can be seen. Picnic lunch stop is made at Hang Khone Island, after 3 hours of paddling through isolate area of jungle islands, local people fishing and garden. See the train station 14 kilometers from Don Det come out through the Mekong at the end of Ban Hang Khone Island. Over look Cambodia border and Irrawaddy Dolphins. Then continue an hour to where a pick up truck waits for the group in Veunkham. Venture to the Mekong cascades, the biggest and widest in Southeast Asia. Stop by Khone Phapheng waterfall. We then return to Don Det in the late afternoon.
Approximately: 2 hours sightseeing/ 1 hour transfer/4-5 hours kayaking or rafting depending on water levels
Note:
• This is best for rafting from July to December, kayaking can be done all year round
• For tourists who continue his/her travel to Cambodia can be drop off at the Laos – Cambodia border (Vernkham)
