Depart Green Discovery Laos, Pakse office by private minivan for a short drive to the boat landing and embark down stream by long tail boat to Champasak Province. On the way we stop to visit Wat Phou Ngoy overlooking the Mekong. After that continue floating down and enjoy with seeing local life along the Mekong River. We have lunch at Champassak. After lunch, we visit UNESCO’s world Heritage site of Wat Phou. After visiting the site we get to the other side of the Mekong River to Ban Moung to take about 2 hours drive to Ban Hat Xay Khoun. Then take a boat through the famous 4000 Islands home of many wild life, such as king fisher and others. Continue to Don Khone for check-in at the hotel, relax enjoy a cold drink or test the fresh coconut juice on the island. Free time and enjoy the beautiful sunset before dinner.
Over night stay at Don Khone (Khounphan G/H)..
Early morning excursion by walking or cycling around the Islands to visit the old colonial French bridge and French built embankment. Enjoy visitng local fishermen on the Mekong. Return to hotel for breakfast. After that visit Somphamit waterfall and continue to travel about 20 minutes by boat downstream to see one of the world’s rarest mammal species, the Irrawaddy Dolphins.
Spend sometime to relax, watch and photograph for the Dolphins. We continue another 30 minutes by boat to Veunkham, where our transport will be waiting to take us to the amazing and biggest waterfall in Southeast Asia, Khone Phapheng. Lunch will be served at the falls before we return to Pakse, the drive back will take 2 and half hours on the same way to Pakse or drop off at Laos and Cambodia border.
