Bolaven Waterfalls

(1 or 2 days car excursion, all seasons)
Tea and Coffee Pantations

This is a one or two days excursion for those who want a taste of the highlands. Drive up to the Bolaven Plateau, a place high above the Mekong Valley known for its temperate weather, coffee plantations and mist shrouded waterfalls. Rivers run off this high plateau in all directions and then plunge out to lush forests along the in a series of spectacular cascading waterfalls. Explore the tiny villages and lovely surrounding countryside.Tad Fan Waterfall

Itinerary:
Day 1: Pakse – Paksong - Tad Fan Waterfall - Tad Lor Waterfall - Ban Soak - Pha Suam Waterfall - Pakse

Depart from Pakse, we drive 38 kilometers to Pak Song. We’ll visit coffee fields and Tad Fan Waterfall, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Laos and continue to Tad Yeaung (wild goat) Waterfall. We make a stop at the local Pak Song Market. Lunch is served at Ban Ta Thang nearby the market or at Tad Lo Waterfall, beneath the waterfall.

After a rest, we drive Ban Soak to meet the Katou, one of the indigenous ethnic groups from Mone Khmer (former name of Burma and Cambodia). Khmu, Alat, Ngea, Kalung, Lavane, Lavere, Katung ethnic groups can be seen here. We continue to Pha Suam Waterfall to see the village built like a national ethnic cultural park. We return to Pakse in the late afternoon.
Overnight will be stayed at local guesthouse.

Approximately: 5 hours driving/2 hours walking Tad Fan Waterfall

End of 1 day tour: Trips ends at Pha Suam, we’ll return to Pakse (Approximately 1 hour)
Note: For 2 days trip, the first day we do not visit to Pha Suam, we will visit to Pha Suam on day 2 instead of day 1(because the route, it likes a circle)

Day 2: Tad Lor – Elephant riding - Pakse
After breakfast we take a short trek or get on the back of Elephant ride take about 2 hours around Tad lor, Ban Tang Lae (Ngae) minority group. After lunch, and cool drink . Then we continue to Pha Suam Waterfall to see the village built like a national ethnic cultural park. We return to Pakse in the late afternoon.

We’ll return to Pakse. Approximately 1 hour drive/ Elephant riding 2 hours
