Depart from Pakse, we drive 38 kilometers to Paksong. We’ll visit coffee fields and Tad Fane, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Laos and continue to Tad Yeaung ('Wild Goat') Waterfall. We make a stop at the local Paksong Market. Lunch is served at Ban Ta Thang nearby the market or at Tad Lor Waterfall.
After a rest, we drive Ban Kok Phoung to meet the Katou, one of the indigenous Mon-Khmer ethnic groups. Khmu, Alat, Ngae, Kalung, Lavane, Lavere, Katung ethnic groups can be seen here, too. We continue to visit Ban Houay Houn, a weaving village. Then drive to Pha Suam Waterfall to see a village built like a national ethnic cultural park.
End of 1 day tour: The trip ends at Pha Suam, we’ll return to Pakse (approx. 1 hour) in the late afternoon.
Approximately: 5 hours driving/ 2 hours walking
With regards to the 2 day tour: Stay overnight at a local guesthouse or home-stay at Ban Bieng. We will visit Pha Suam in the afternoon of day 2 instead of day 1 (because the route is like a circle)
After breakfast we take a short trek or get on the back of Elephant on a ride for about 2 hours around Tad Lor waterfall to Ban Tang Lae (of the Ngae minority group). We can take a shower for refreshment and have lunch at the guesthouse. After lunch, and a cool drink we continue to visit Ban Houay Houn, a weaving village. Then drive to Pha Suam Waterfall (see also day 1). We return to Pakse in the late afternoon.
Approximately 1 hour drive/ Elephant riding 2 hours
