Departure from Green Discovery Laos, Pakse office, at 8:30 pm, we drive pass local tea and coffee plantations along the Bolaven Plateau. We stop to view Tad Fan waterfall situated at the edge of Dong Hau Sao protected area. Next, we drive 20k to Ban Nong Luang where we meet our local guide, who will teach you about the animals and traditional medicine. We walk through coffee farms and mixed bamboo and jungle forests. Lunch is served at a small waterfall. After lunch we continue walking to Tad Taget waterfall about 1 ½ hour. We walk down the mountain about 40 minutes to where we set up camp there for the night. Rest and enjoy a cool swim in the beautiful spot.
Approximately: Trekking 4 – 4 ½ hours/ transfer 1 ½ hour
After breakfast we trek uphill through the National Biodiversity Conservation Area (NBCA) of Dong Hua Sao. This NBCA shares its southern border with Vietnam and Cambodia. You will hear birds singing all a long the way. If you are lucky you will see monkeys along your trail. We stop for lunch at the Tad Kamue waterfall. After lunch we trek for about 1 ½ hour to Danh Ngai Limestone cliffs and a view of Champasak Province. We return to Ban Nong Luang from a different trail about 1 ½ hour and get onto the vehicle to Pakse at about 5:30 pm.
